New management for ZVEI expert group SHEVS and Natural Ventilation

The division "Smoke and Heat Ventilation Systems (SHEVS) and Natural Ventilation" in the ZVEI (German Electrical and Electronic Manufacturers' Association) has elected Martin Weber (Simon Protec Systems) as its new chairman. He replaces Frank Wienböker (Kingspan Light + Air STG-Beikirch), who will continue to serve the specialist group as Vice Chairman. Ramona Meinzer (Aumüller Aumatic) was also elected as Vice Chairman.

Natural ventilation is an important aspect on the way to more energy efficiency in the building sector. Martin Weber is convinced of this: "Without an increased rate of refurbishment and more energy efficiency in buildings, the German and European climate targets cannot be achieved. Natural ventilation can make an important contribution here, as it makes it possible to maintain the air exchange rates required by standards". The Corona pandemic has given the subject of ventilating buildings an additional boost.

Martin Weber relies on close cooperation with all stakeholders when it comes to smoke and heat ventilation and natural ventilation. "Only together can we make a difference, there are enough topics. Starting with the Model Administrative Regulation for Technical Building Regulations (MVV TB), which contains regulations that should be adapted to our current standards. We are also concerned with the standardization of services in DIN 18232 Part XX for the planning, project planning, assembly, commissioning, inspection, acceptance and maintenance of systems for smoke removal, smoke ventilation and smoke control, which we are promoting with our partners. And finally, the legal framework of the building regulations, which ranges from the European Construction Products Regulation to the specifications of the Argebau, which are important for the use of our systems".
