Systems with the combined functions "Smoke extraction in case of fire" and "Natural ventilation" can be implemented in both functional areas optionally with electromotive or pneumatic actuators. In the case of a fire, the system is triggered - and thus the smoke and heat extractors are opened - by automatic or manual detectors as well as by external alarm devices. This is also ensured in the case of a total power failure: for electromotive systems by means of emergency power accumulators and for voltage-independent pneumatic systems due to compressed-gas storage (CO2 cylinder).

A ventilation button is used to control the natural ventilation function - often in combination with climatic sensors for temperature, rain and wind. A simple connection to a central building management system or to external fire alarm systems is possible. Depending on the object-specific requirements, the electric or pneumatic SHE and ventilation groups offer numerous advantages.
